On June 8, 2007 students from the Academy of Kempo Martial Arts in Hamden and Academy of Kempo Martial Arts in Trumbull received their ranks of Black Belt. With each new level there are new challenges, at Black Belt there will be both mental challenges and physical challenges which will help the students to become more aware of themselves and others. The Martial Arts is a mental and a physical experience, one without the other doesnít offer a balance, which is so important in life. There is a different proficiency level required for each belt rank; our belt advancement tests the students on their mental and physical abilities to qualify them for their new ranks. At the Academy of Kempo Martial Arts, receiving a Black Belt is a very honorable task. It shows that the students have met the physical and mental requirements for each of their Martial Arts levels as well as demonstrated high moral qualities, good character and has exemplified a positive attitude towards others. We would like to congratulate these students for their achievements, Jonathon Garrity, Amanda Mitchell, Carrie Meyer, Christopher Nava and Jake Taccone. Black Belt has become a goal for many students, though only a few achieve this great goal and for those who do and continue their journey in the Martial Arts realize that Black Belt is not the end of their journey, itís a new beginning for them. For more information on previous belt promotions, please look us up on the web at www.academyofkempo.com.
