Learning to help others

Gabriel Ciarleglio of Hamden, who will be 4 years old on Monday, and all of the children at the Academy Of Kempo Martial Arts are learning to help others. The Hamden academy dropped off the first load of food to the to St. Annís Kitchen in Hamden. Academy students, families and friends have donated about 25 bags of nonperishable food and continue to donate every week. The academy is offering incentives to students and nonstudents who make donations. The academy is accepting donations through the holidays at 1890 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, Barron Gannon & Co., 1275 Post Road, Suite 200A, Fairfield; Cooperative Arts and Humanities Magnet High School, 444 Orange St., New Haven; and the Boys and Girls Club of Hartford Southwest Unit, 1 Chandler Street, Hartford.
